We are a group of 7 doctors who have over 8,000 patients on our list. We work alongside other health professionals and try to offer a first class care service. For the last few years we have been attempting to move from treating illness to preventing illness. In addition we feel it is important that we help you to manage as much of your illness as possible. we are part of the Penderi Cluster offers Primary Care Services across six health centres – Brynhyfryd, Cheriton, Cwmfelin, Fforestfach and Manselton. You can register as a patient, and/or access a range of community based support locally. Penderi Cluster have a vision to care for the unique health and wellbeing needs of its patients and citizens in the most effective way possible. In recognition of its particular population needs, it will also work together to create an innovative culture of enabling long term change by taking a preventative approach to tackling ill health and its contributing factors. Sister Lisa Arnold RGN (Advanced Nurse Practitioner)
Lisa has recently qualified as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Lisa is able to diagnose, treat, prescribe and refer patients to secondary care. We are now offering patients appointments with our Nurse Practitioner in our new Minor Illness Clinic. These appointments will run alongside the GP's morning walk-in surgery. For further details ask at Reception.
Between them the nurses have completed many additional professional courses, for example cervical screening, the Asthma Diploma, COPD diploma and the Diabetic Diploma. They work very closely with the doctors and are trained to do an extensive range of procedures and tests.
You may see a nurse for such services as removal of stitches, cervical smears, wound dressing, ear syringing, injections, flu immunisations and foreign travel vaccinations.
Victoria Morgan - Victoria is able carry out a number of clinical duties within the Nurses treatment room. This will include blood pressure checks, ECG’s, ear irrigation, BMI, lifestyle advice and more. Please check when you are booking an appointment that you are seeing an appropriate clinician.
Our Practice Manager is Mrs Shannon Thomas.
She is responsible to the doctors for the overall management and administration of the Practice and its staff; essentially all non-clinical aspects of the business.

We have a staff of eleven people who are trained to take essential information sensitively and sympathetically, while treating it with the utmost confidentiality.
Our staff are at the heart of the organisation and enable the doctors and nurses to see as many patients as possible during the working day.
Three of the staff are also secretary’s, responsible for typing NHS hospital referrals. They can also organise private referrals.
The following health care professionals are employed by the ABMU Health Board but are attached to the Practice.
Health Visitors are qualified nurses who have had specialist training in infant and child care; they are also involved in the care of elderly patients and are able to give advice on health promotion and any social problems you may have. The Health Visitors can be contacted on (01792) 455696 during normal office hours.
The District Nurses are no longer based at the surgery but they still work closely with the doctors and make home visits to house-bound patients, chronically sick patients and patients recently discharged from hospital.
The District Nurse Team can be contacted at the “Hub” on (01792) 530790.
This specially trained professional provide personal care for all pregnant women before, during and after delivery.
Patients in the Practice are cared for by the Fforest Team. Each patient has her own midwife during pregnancy and either she or a member of the team will come to the hospital and may deliver the baby. Patients can also discuss the option of home delivery with the midwife. The community midwife can be contacted on 07766 466891 (24/7)
A MHLN is in the surgery on Tuesdays and provides an assessment of needs and brief interventions for patients as well as being their link to the ABMU Health Board Mental Health teams, voluntary services and community organisations.
